The Hottest Restaurants in Chicago Right Now, November 2017
By Daniel Gerzina and Ashok Selvam
More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends, and family of Eater have one question: Where should one eat right now? Restaurant obsessives want to know what's new, what's hot, which favorite chef just launched a sophomore effort. And while the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the "it" places of the moment. Thus, the staff offers the Eater Heatmap, which will change on a regular basis to always highlight where the crowds are flocking to at the moment.
Chilly weather has taken over Chicago, but new restaurants continue to sizzle around the city. The November Heatmap update features three new entries: steak legend Gibsons' long-awaited Italian restaurant, Chicago comfort classics and more from a Michelin-starred chef (Regards to Edith), and the latest entry to the food hall boom. Meanwhile, someone has to come off to make room, so City Mouse, Bonchon, and Daisies take bows after long residencies. Happy eating.
Beatnik, the eclectic and eye-catching new restaurant and cocktail lounge from the owners of Fulton Market Kitchen and Celeste, is packing in crowds on Chicago Avenue in West Town for intriguing food as well as standout drinks. Relax on an array of comfortable seating options amidst an indoor garden in the 1950s-Bohemian-inspired space and try menus stocked with creative dishes that draw from cuisines from around the world.
